Taster Workshop - April 18th

  • Riso Pop Maasstraat 182 Amsterdam, NH Netherlands (map)

This introduction workshop is aimed for those who are curious about how riso printing works. The Taster workshop is held on a Saturday and it’s longer than our weekly mini versions.

How is this workshop set up?

A few days before the workshop, you’ll receive an email with a few simple instructions to help you start thinking about your designs at home.

At the studio, we begin with an introduction to the Risograph printer and how it works. You’ll learn the basics of the Riso process, including how images are separated into layers and how colours are printed. To get familiar with the machine, we’ll start with a small experimental print so you can see the process in action and have a bit of fun.

Afterwards, you’ll have time to develop and finish your design before moving on to printing. During the workshop you’ll learn how to prepare analogue artwork for Riso printing using the studio scanner. We’ll explore simple techniques such as collage, drawing, doodling, and working with shapes and textures to create layered prints.

You get to take home: 1 A4 print that can be divided into 2 folded cards or 4 postcards.
Your design will be printed in two colors, and you can take home up to 15 copies—perfect for sending to friends and family.

No prior experience is needed. Since we work with the Riso scanner and analogue techniques, everyone can join! Whether you like collage, drawing, doodling, or experimenting with shapes and textures.
