Riso Still Life
On this evening, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment and get creative through still life drawing.
We’ll start with easy and playful drawing exercises to loosen up our drawing muscles and get comfortable with observation. Using a still life setup, we’ll explore composition, negative space, and contrast. We’ll work with materials that create exciting textures, such as pencils, crayons, and paper cut-outs. These drawings will serve as the foundation for your design and, ultimately, your Riso print.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll be taking a series of original prints with you. This means you’ll leave with tangible pieces of your artwork, printed in vibrant Riso colours.
From drawings to riso!
Once your drawing is ready, we’ll look at how to simplify and prepare it for Risograph printing. You’ll learn how to think in layers and adapt your artwork for the scanner and printer. We’ll begin with a few test prints to get acquainted with the Riso machine, and then move on to printing your final design in two colours.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home up to 15 copies of your Riso-printed still life.
Whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned artist, this workshop is a great opportunity to deepen your drawing practice and learn how to translate hand-drawn work into print. Discover new ways of seeing, hone your skills, and unlock the creative potential of the Riso printer.e.
