Full-Day: Nature Walk & Riso Zine

Step away from your screens and join us for a full-day creative safari!

In this workshop, we bridge the gap between the outdoors and the printing room. We will begin the morning with an inspiring neighborhood walk right outside our studio doors, gathering sketches, taking photos, and collecting physical textures.In the afternoon, we return to our cozy studio to translate our discoveries into print. 

You will learn how to prepare your physical drawings and mobile photos, design a layered two-color layout, and run your very own limited edition of 15–20 duotone A3 prints. Whether you want to frame your final piece as a bold graphic poster or fold it into a clever, self-binding 8-page pocket zine, you'll walk away with a tangible piece of the city.

What can you expect from this workshop:

Part 1: The Morning Walk & Texture Hunt

We will gear you up with a custom "Field Kit" (sketchbook, charcoal, graphite, ink brush, and a viewfinder) and head out into the neighbourhood. Together, we'll explore local spots, hunting for interesting details, patterns and textures. You will get drawing and photo prompts so you can gather a collection of images to use later in the day. You’ll learn how to view the city through a "Riso lens."

Part 2: The Studio & Collage Lab

Back at the studio (after a lunch break), we will print out your favourite smartphone snapshots in high-contrast greyscale. You will then build your A3 layout using analog collage approach. We will teach you how to create a two-layer design so you can easily plan your duotone magic without needing a computer.

Part 3: Riso Printing!

This is where the magic happens! You will learn to operate the machine, burn your masters, and run your prints. Finally, we’ll fold, cut, and swap prints, ending the day with a mini-exhibition of our fresh A3 posters and zines!

You don’t need to be a professional artist to join us! This day is designed for:

• Curious Beginners: Anyone looking for a relaxing, tactile, and highly rewarding weekend activity. If you think "I can't draw," nature textures and collage are the ultimate low-pressure, foolproof ways to start.

• Illustrators & Graphic Designers: Creatives wanting to step away from digital files, get their hands dirty, and understand the beautiful, grainy translation of analog layers into physical print.
