2-Colour Riso Mapmaking Workshop

Step into the studio for a 4-hour deep dive into spot-color printmaking! Whether you're a digital illustrator or a paper-and-ink enthusiast, learn how to turn your favourite places (real or imaginary) into a gorgeous 2-colour Risograph printed map.

What You’ll Create:

By the end of the workshop, you won't just walk away with a print, you'll leave with a finished, limited edition mini-run of 15 copies of your map ready to share with the world:

• Display-Ready Prints: We’re printing standard sizing (A4 or A3) designed to look stunning framed on your wall, adding a vibrant pop of spot-color ink and texture to your living space.

• Pocket-Sized Folding Maps: We’ll show you simple, elegant paper folds so your print transforms into a cozy, tactile keepsake map. Perfect for slipping into an envelope or carrying on your next adventure!

• Unique Gifts: Because you'll print a whole edition, you'll have plenty of copies to gift to friends, family, or fellow travel lovers who share special memories of those places with you.

How does the workshop look like?

Before the Workshop (Pre-Prep Kit)
A few days before the workshop, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to prepare at home. Including: mapping prompts (Neighborhood Guide, Travel Memories, Imaginary World), examples and downloadable digital templates for Procreate/Photoshop users.

At the studio - The Riso Demo & Separation of Layers
We’ll demystify how the printer processes digital PDFs as well as physical scanner bed artwork. You'll learn how to break any design into two greyscae "layers".

Mapmaking:
Spend dedicated studio time refining your map. Digital creators get help with file exports/halftones; analogue creators get guided on line weight, tracing, and collage textures.

Printing & Map Swap: Run your 2-colour edition on the Riso press! We’ll end with a studio showcase and print exchange so everyone leaves with a collection of handmade maps.
