Riso Pop welcomes you again to take part in our annual Open Call!
After last year's incredible response, we’re excited to launch a new edition — this time in our brand new studio space.
This summer, the theme is Summer Travels. As always, it’s open to interpretation. Tell us about your favourite summer ever, your travel rituals, how you pack your suitcase, a dreamy destination, or childhood vacation memories. Whether it's humorous, poetic, nostalgic, or abstract — we can’t wait to see what you come up with.
We have space to exhibit up to 30 artworks, which will be chosen based on how they work together in the space. The selected works will be part of a special exhibition during our Open Studio weekend in late June (21 & 22nd of June), and included in a new printed zine.
Want to join? Read below all the info
Aafke & Riso Pop team
Just like last year, in order to create a cohesive look for the exhibition (as well as for the upcoming zine) we are providing you some guidelines for you to follow:
Your main artwork should be made in a square format: 21x 21cm
We also ask for a one-colour postage stamp design: 6 x 9 cm (1:1.4 ratio)
The selected colour palette of four riso colours - Yellow, Fluo Pink, one of our Blues (Aqua, Blue and Medium Blue) and Burgundy.
Once you are done, you send your files to be printed at Riso Pop! *
All selected artworks will be printed and featured in a collective zine.
* Your name and socials will always be shared. Riso Pop does not maintain any copyright to your work.
We have space to print and exhibit 30 artworks during the open studio weekend in June. Selection is based on how the works fit together visually as a group — but we aim to include everyone who sends in an entry.
Everyone who submits will still be part of the project.
All postage stamp designs will be printed and featured in the zine.
If your work is selected for the exhibition, you’ll receive:
Your piece displayed at Riso Pop during the Open Studio weekend + 2 weeks after
10 copies of your artwork
We will ask for your contribution regarding shipping costs. Or you can pick up at the studio.
A maker’s discount on the zine,
The option to sell your work during the show.
If you submitted a post stamp design - you also get a maker’s discount on the zine.
Funding & Sales:
This project is entirely self-funded. We cover materials and printing through the sale of prints and zines, and hope the event brings new audiences to Riso Pop.
