Welcome to the Riso Club! This is members page which you will have access to for the rest of the year. Every month this page will be updated with the monthly theme, paper special as well as resources and or inspiration gathered for you. My plan is to keep developing this page so it becomes more interactive, with help of your feedback, but for now this will be the basic version.
Monthly Theme (optional): Every month you will find an optional theme. This is to help you in case you need some inspiration.
Paper: We print standard with Biotop 160gsm. Sometimes we have special paper that we will announce beforehand. You are welcome to bring your own paper as well, and if you’d like to use specific paper at the studio this will have extra costs.
Calendar (fixed): When you scroll down you will find printing session date as well as the deadline to send in your files. We use this information to have paper stock ready and plan the printing sessions.
Printing Session: Printing sessions will take place on the last Saturday of the months (with certain exceptions). You can decide to join the live session and print with us, or select the shipping option.
I will always print your work as long as you send it before the deadline.
Welcome to the September edition of Riso Club,
September marks the start of a new season, and as we say goodbye to summer,
I’m always curious: what did your summer look like?
Think back to those golden evenings, the best food you ate, the exciting adventures you had, or maybe the quiet, restful moments that made your summer special. For this theme, we’d love to push a little storytelling: capture not just an image, but a memory, a feeling, or a small story from your summer.
For those who want an extra challenge: try creating a folded zine!
If you don’t have time for the zine or prefer something simpler, you can always print the standard A4 sheet using 2 colours, either approach works!
And hey, maybe you want us to take some zines to Thought Bubble in November ;)
- Aafke
Join us in making a folded zine to recall your summer break
Storytelling prompts to get you started:
What’s a summer memory you keep coming back to?
Was there a taste, smell, or sound that instantly felt like summer?
Did you have an unexpected adventure (or misadventure!)?
Where was your favorite quiet spot this summer?
If you had to describe your summer as a short comic or scene, what would it look like?
Pro tips:
Make a dummy with an A4 sheet to understand how the page order works.
Keep clear of the edges!!! Remember that riso cannot print full bleed.
After production: before folding, cut the edges to get the best results.
You can choose 2 from these 15 riso inks!!!
Please have your designs ready, in B&W - A3 format
Your design should be in separate files per colour.
These files should be saved as PDF’s
Please also send your full colour version so I can use as reference (in JPEG or PNG).
>> Deadline: Thursday 25th of September<
Print session will take place at the studio on Maasstraat 182.

It’s been a while since we made a Riso Club zine, so what better moment than now to start a new one?
One of our long-time members, and Riso Club fan and supporter, Eva, will soon be leaving the country. Many of you will know her from past sessions, and if you do, you’ll also know she has a deep love for pigeons. Yes, pigeons!
So, in her honour (and as a little nod to our much-loved Bird Zine from a few years back) I’d love to invite you to join this new collaborative project: the Pigeon Zine.
Each participant will get a spread to fill however you like, as long as it fits the theme: pigeons. We will set a colour palette and guidelines.
If you’re interested, take a look at the info below:
