Plant Squad

Welcome to a new exhibition in our studio gallery featuring the mixed-media work of artist Jennifer Heins.
During this exhibition, Jennifer brings together a playful series of characters that blend human and plant forms, exploring our connection to the natural world. Through illustrations and small three-dimensional pieces that move beyond the wall, these nature-inspired personalities begin to inhabit everyday spaces like curious companions.

Alongside the exhibition, we’re also collaborating with Jennifer to organise a series of fun workshops during this festive weekend. Scroll down to find more information.

About the exhibition

Plant Squad is an illustrated, mixed-media exhibition by Jennifer Hines that explores the relationship between humans and the plant world through characters and unexpected juxtapositions. Though people often view themselves as separate from nature, the exhibition highlights the many ways human life mirrors the natural world. Like plants, humans grow, require nourishment and sunlight, thrive in supportive conditions, and wilt when those conditions are lacking.

In Plant Squad, Jennifer creates a series of characters and illustrated interactions that blend human and plant forms, playfully exploring this connection. While some works remain wall-based illustrations, others extend into three-dimensional forms that inhabit everyday spaces, allowing the characters to exist more like companions than images. The Plant Squad forms a curious crew of nature-inspired personalities that celebrate shared quirks, relationships, and our enduring connection to the natural world.
