PIGEON ZINE!

Welcome to our 2025 Riso Club zine project!

With a playful nod to our Bird Zine Book from 2022, we’re excited to invite you to join our newest collaborative project: The Riso Pidgeon Zine.

This year’s theme is inspired by one of our longest-standing Riso Club members, Eva Pola, who will be emigrating to the UK this winter. Eva’s love for pigeons shines through in her personal work, and so does her endless knowledge of fun and surprising pigeon facts!

What to Make:

 

We’ll be creating a landscape-oriented zine where each artist gets one page to portray a pigeon.
Your page can be:

  • A bird in action,

  • A portrait-style illustration,

  • A short comic or paneled story,

For inspiration, check out our curated Pinterest board & our selection of Fun Pigeon Foto’s

Tip: There are many fascinating types of pigeons out there! A little research might spark unexpected ideas.


The guidelines:

  • Format: A5- Landscape (148 x 210 mm)

  • Colour Palette: Teal, Pink & Sunflower (you can use these any way you like)

  • Deadline: Friday, 19 September 2025

  • Please deliver your work as greyscale - black and white PDF’s

    • You should have separate PDF files, one per colour (example; 1 for Teal, 1 for Pink and 1 for Sunflower Yellow).

    • Name your PDF’s with YOURNAME_COLOUR
      (for example: JOANNE_YELLOW).

  • Send a colour JPEG that we can use as reference for printing


    *     Your name and socials will always be shared. Riso Pop does not maintain any copyright to your work.
    **We will ask for your contribution regarding shipping costs. Or you can pick up at the studio.
