Autumn Open Studio 2024
Last weekend, we hosted our annual Autumn Open Studio, a cherished Riso Pop tradition. This year felt especially meaningful, as it marked one of our final events in the current studio before we move to our new space in the Rivierenbuurt. Even though it was a one-day event, we were thrilled to open our doors once again to welcome our Riso friends and meet new faces!
A Marketplace Full of Riso Goodies
Our market table was packed with the latest Riso Pop prints, zines, and paper goodies, but we added a fresh twist this time—a dedicated corner for the work of our Riso Club members! This new feature let visitors explore unique prints created by members of our Riso community. The response was so positive that we’re thinking of expanding this idea for a winter Riso market, so stay tuned!
Interactive Workshops and a New Hot Vinyl Stamp Station
The workshop area was buzzing with creativity, as usual. Visitors got a hands-on introduction to the Riso printer through our mini Riso workshops, a great way for newcomers to explore the printer’s colorful, layered potential. But the star attraction was our new hot vinyl stamp station, a playful and sustainable way to give old clothes a fresh look with layered colors and patterns. We loved seeing second-hand clothes transformed with new life and vibrant designs, giving everyone a chance to experiment with the layered magic of Riso-style printing!
Exhibition and Workshop with Manuel Tenedor
The event’s creative highlight was an exhibition by Manuel Tenedor, featuring his latest monoline drawings that capture the essence of daily life with graceful simplicity and movement. Manuel also held a guest workshop on Thursday evening, where he shared insights into his approach to minimalistic drawing. His sketchbooks were on display, allowing visitors to dive deeper into his process and inspirations.
Looking Ahead to Winter and Spring
With this Autumn Open Studio marking our last event at this location, we’re excited about what’s next. A winter event is already in the works, and we’re busy with renovations to make our new studio even more welcoming for you. We can’t wait to show you our new space at our Spring Open Studio!
